Women’s Day Speech in Urdu

By Azfar HussainMarch 6, 2025

International Women’s Day is observed annually on March 8 to highlight the vital role of women in society. However, many people are unaware of its true purpose. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about women’s rights, stopping violence against women, and advocating for their education and empowerment. A nation can never achieve true success until its women actively contribute alongside men.

Women across the world, regardless of their caste, religion, or nationality, face injustice and discrimination. They are often denied the respect and status they deserve in society. One of the primary causes of a nation’s downfall is the inequality between men and women. When a country ignores the rights of women, it hinders progress and prosperity.

During the era of Jahiliyyah, daughters were buried at birth, a tragic and disgraceful practice. Over time, various prophets, including the final prophet Muhammad (PBUH), emphasized women’s rights. With the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), women were granted the right to live. In Islam, women have been given their due rights, including inheritance and ownership of their husband’s property. The Prophet stated that anyone who provides for his daughter from birth until marriage will surely enter heaven.

Like many other countries, Pakistan observes International Women’s Day on March 8. Various seminars, conferences, and events are organized to highlight the importance of women’s rights. However, inequality persists in society, where women are not treated equally. Despite being an Islamic country, Pakistan often fails to grant women the rights they deserve. The birth of a girl is not celebrated with the same joy as that of a boy. Although daughters are a blessing from Allah, society, particularly in underprivileged areas, struggles to acknowledge this. In many regions of Pakistan, women are denied education and are deprived of their fundamental rights.
